It’s summer and cooking just doesn’t seem appealing right now. We’re having a cooler summer than usual here in Atlanta due to the obsessive rain, but still they call it Hotlanta for a reason!
So smoothies seem like a nice, easy, healthy alternative. I have to admit, I’m not one for doing lots of measuring. I just like to throw it all in, pour in enough almond milk (or soy or regular milk) to cover the other ingredients, blend it up and enjoy!
For this one I included blueberries, strawberries, almonds, plain Greek yogurt, local honey, peanut butter (the kind that is just peanuts ground up, nothing extra) and almond milk. I love seeing what color it turns out! It’s nice to chill it for a few minutes before drinking but all in all it’s super quick and easy! If you want to delve deeper into smoothie making we recommend Becky Striepe of Glue and Glitter’s e-book 40 Days of Green Smoothies. We also encourage you to try your own experiments!
